Last report oncologist had repeated 2CTs & said since no change in 7wks (and cancer grows when not treated) we would just wait til early Feb & repeat CTs for any signs of change unless DH developed any other problems. Earlier this wk oncologist called requesting our permission to send all medical info to a renowned prostate cancer specialist at Univ of Iowa Hospital (in this part of the country if you don't go to Mayo you go to U of I). He said this was just for this dr to REVIEW the case & give an opinion to our oncologist. They would even send the slides from the 2 biopsies to U of I pathology. Of course we said YES. I was relieved to learn that the oncologist hadn't just set our case aside until Feb but rather he has still been working on it & making further consultations. Yesterday, to my total surprise, received a call from U of I. They want to see us on Tues. Called our oncologist & he was surprised to learn we had been called for an appointment. Not quite sure what to think of these developments but at least we are moving forward rather than remaining in a "holding" pattern. Don't expect to get any answers on Tues but maybe it will be sooner rather than later. Living with the "unknown" is a terrible thing; just give me an answer & tell me what we're going to do about it. Will update when we know more. Thanks to all for your concern & prayers.

At least they aren't keeping you on the back burner and making you wait. May you get some answers and find out where you stand.

GOOD oncologist. I doubt you'll get answers on Tuesday, but you will certainly get info and probably a request for tests of their own so they can work with their own info, that may be more detailed. Good luck next week! Prayers continue.

Cathy it seems that you are in good hands and that these doctors want in the worst way to find out what is going on and help your husband. I am pleased to hear that you have this upcoming appointment. You are in my thoughts. And please let us know what the oncologist says after DH's appointment.

You may want to call your insurance to see if they will cover the visits or if you need authorizations. Don't want you to get hit with bills on the back end.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you. I know from personal experience, sometimes it just takes one dr. who sees something and things **click.** Please keep us informed.
