I will be sailing on the Pacific Princess in Europe for 16 days. It seems no one talks about this ship. By far its been the hardest time finding good information, or even a review!

Anyone been on this ship lately?

How was the internet access? I have to work on the ship for a few hours a day, and the internet access is crucial!!

Thanks!

Can't specifically say anything about the Royal, but have sailed on the Tahitian and it was fantastic.

As far as the Internet, it was fine, actually, I thought most times it was faster than on the ships in the Caribbean.

The size of the ship is great, you really get to mingle and know many of the other passengers.

Spent 28 days on the Pacific Princess a year or so ago. We loved it, but that's because we love small ships. Crew to passenger ratio is really high, as is the passenger space ratio -- around 660 passengers, I think. Not a lot to do on the ship because of its size, so if you're looking for the ship to entertain you, you might be disappointed. Small casino -- just a handful of slot machines. The main show lounge is more of a cabaret-style room, with the whole thing all on the same level. It's a beautiful ship -- they left most of the fittings and finishes from when it was the "R" ship, so it has more wood and more ornate decorations and carpeting, etc. than most other Princess ships.

It has a nice Internet room -- about 8 workstations in there I think. ...and there are a couple elsewhere on the ship. But access has nothing to do with the ship -- it will be fast or slow depending on where you are.

G'day cardpunk. DH and I have sailed on Pacific Princess twice, from Sydney to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. We loved the ship, and were very sorry to see her leave Australia. We found plenty to keep us entertained; but our cruises were only 10, and 9 days. We only used the internet once each time and found it very slow, but as was stated, that would depend a lot on where you are.
I have a review posted here on @ddicts, and a photo gallery.
Have a wonderful cruise!
