Packing liqour bottles

I have read some comments that you have left about bubble wrapping bottles of liquor and stashing it in your "checked" luggage. This is a good idea, but I'm a little worried that the bottle(s) will still somehow break. What else can I do besides wrap them in bubble wrap to ensure they dont break all over my luggage?

Wrap them in a couple of layers of bubble wrap, and then wrap some of your tee shirts or other clothing around that, keeping the bottle separated in the luggage. Pack them in the center of your luggage, and make sure there is clothing around the outer part of the luggage.

For my wine in my carry-on, I wrap in bubble wrap and then in the 2-gallon ziploc bags so if there's any spillage, it won't get on my carry-on items.

Not big drinkers but was going to try and slide a couple of mickeys? on. Here in Canada we can get them in clear plastic bottle, will I be able to get those in the U.S.? Thought flatter shape might fit better against side of case?

Definitely pack in a bag after wrapping in bubble wrap. I use the 13 gal garbage bags because they're so big that I not only guard against leakage, but rolling the extra around a bottle gives me another layer or 2 of cushioning for the bottle.
