Packing suits and formal gowns

Garment bags have always worked well for us. We bring along a water spray bottle so we could do the hillbilly ironing for those few wrinkles . :)

Have the items dry cleaned and then pack them in the suitcase in the dry cleaner bags. I do this for most of my evening clothes and just fold them into the suitcase and have never had a problem.

Princess has laundry facilities on the ships with irons in them, but no irons in the room.

How do we do it? With a dry cleaning bag over each item and all items put in a rolling garmet bag.

We always check our rolling garmet bag - it's really study - not the soft, hanging kind - but one that folds over once and zips when it's flat, and again when it's folded over. The clothes have very few winkles when we take them out and it'll hold enough dresses for a 10 night cruise. :)

I agree with a garment bag or just pack it with your regular clothes if you have the room. If you take a tux, two-piece suit it is only $10 to have it dry-cleaned and pressed on the ship. $5.00 for pressing only. Formal dresses are a little less than this. You are on vacation, let the ship take care of it for you.
