Panama canal cruise

Does anyone know which side of the ship would be best to view the canal? We are planning a cruise with private balcony. I read a review a way's back that said a certain side of the ship was better to view the canal and lake, but I forgot which side it was.

Also, any comments on the Infinity would be welcome.

Thank you.

I sailed through the Panama Canal on the Mercury last April. I do not understand why anyone would think that one side of the ship would be better for a balcony than the other side. I did not have a balcony and stayed up on the outside decks. I found interesting views on both sides of the ship. While in the locks the same activities are being performed on both sides of the ships.

The one difference is if you are going from the west coast to the Caribbean the camera for the web site is on the right side of the ship if you care to wave at it for friends when you go through the lock. Obviously if you are going the oposite direction it would be on the left side.
