Yes, did it when on the Carnival Spirit in 2003. LOVED It. Took the bus from the port across to the Pacific side (Balboa) and got on the ferry. Went through the Mira Flores and Pedro Miguel locks. Then off the ferry at Gamboa and back on the bus and back to the port. It was great -- an experience well worth every penny of the $165 per person we paid.
