The weather during our transit of the canal was sunny, hot and humid.The port we called on in Costa Rica was Puntarenas - a dusty, dirty, depressed town with little (actually, nothing) to offer. Didn't take any shore excursions, so can't say how they were or how the surrounding areas were, but were we to call on Puntarenas again, wouldn't bother to get off the ship.
