We did a 10 day round trip Ft. Lauderdale on Sun Princess last year. It was great because you did go through one set of locks but the whole time we were saying oh we are so close we need to do a full transit to the Pacific. We have chosen to do that in Jan. as we loved the first cruise to the canal but felt like we really needed to complete the journey. If you only have 10 days though it is really great because you do transit the first set of locks. They have a historian onboard the ship that gives a lot of information about the building and workings of the locks as you transit. It really is a great cruise.
