What time usually does the ship enter the canal in the morning. Will we be allow to
go in front of the ship to watch it enter,
How many are allow to watch from there. and final question how do you get chosen to be one of the lucky ones to go there.

Why do you think they are installing boxing rings on the ships now?

Oops, the boxing rings are on the Freedom class, which is too big to fit through the canal.

The ships begin the crossing between 6:00am and 7:00am (except apparently Silversea - which recently made a night crossing).

I would assume that you get a bow rail spot the same way you get any prime viewing area. You get their first.

Nonetheless, there is one alternative you might want to consider. Norwegian (and some Princess) ships have forwarding facing balconies. I was in one. Here is a link to 198 photos I took, from my forward facing balcony, when we crossed the Panama Canal in February 2008 ...

I would imagine you can go on the helipad area of the ship...........when we went thru Hubbard Glacier(Alaska), thats where we went to view the sights....that was on the Serenade, which is the same class as the Jewel................so anyone can go..............

We ordered Breakfast in our room so we could be on the balcony as we entered the canal..... Later went up on deck to walk around, but standing in the HOT sun and with the humidity, is no fun. Soon headed back to our balcony to get out of the sun and enjoy the view from there.
