We just returned from sailing on the Rhapsody of The Seas. Just wanted to mention that we really enjoyed Paradise Beach. It is a free beach, but they do expect you to buy food or drinks. The taxi ride from the ship for 2 of us was 12.00.

Is the swimming and snorkeling good here? Is it less crowded than Chakanaab? Could you tell me what you know about this beach? Thanks - Patricia

I haven't been to the other beaches, but Paradise Beach was not crowded at all when we were there. In fact, for the first couple of hours we were the only ones there! The swimming is great and they have a water trampoline, climbing iceberg, float mats, kayak and snorkle gear all free (you pay a deposit on the snorkle stuff). There are lots of chairs with little tables and shade umbrellas too! The snorkling, while not a spectacular as some I've done was actually pretty fun and a good place to practice if you are needing a warm up. The facilities are very well maintained, super clean, and include showers, changing rooms, restaurant, hair braiding station, and massage if you like. The prices were quite reasonable and there was no high pressure. We ordered some food and soft drinks and the girls both had their hair braided. I would definately recommend it!
