Has anyone been to Paradise Beach lately? What will the water be like in late April? We love beaches with crystal clear water..is this the place for us, or should we go somewhere else?

Paradise Beach is up and running. It's a nice day's outing. Good margaritas and nachos at reasonable price. Water toys available. "Paradise Tom" their PR guy, is usually there, and he's terrific! I happen to prefer Chankanaab Park, as there has always been a lot more to do there, but it suffered so much damage from Wilma, may not be ready for a long time.

Paradise Beach is where the "Catamaran Sail, Snorkel, and Beach" excursions go. We were next door at San Francisco beach the first week of February (it is immediately next to Paradise Beach). The water was beautiful (not exactly "crystal clear", but still world-class) And the beach/food/service was great (we did the all-inclusive at $40 pp). There was damage to buildings from the storm, but repairs were actively underway. See my review of SF Beach here.
