Parents and Grandparents hits or misses with Christmas Toys

Were the toys you gave the kidlets this Christmas a hit or miss?

I have to say most were big hits this year. The Toy Story Train Kaan got he plays with every day. He also loves his smart cycle which is a video game but you have to pedal on a stationary bike to make it work. So he gets lots of exercise. The other boys all love their toys and most of the doll babies Kiarra got are closely guarded by her so that the boys don't touch them. And, the Star Station which is a small video camera you hook to the TV and insert software then the kids sing along while seeimg themself on TV was also a big hit! I just bought them another cartridge for that with different songs.

The only problem we had was that I bought Kiarra the Rose Pedal Cottage which is a playhouse made out of cloth with a plastic frame. It is adorable and she loved it but the boys decided to play fortress in in and were being too rough with it so it was taken down and will be moved to another part of the house and out of the playroom so that it is Girl's only! :lol It was also missing a couple of connection pieces and I've written to the company to send the parts. Audra and I almost bought a Pixar Cars tent playhouse for the boys, didn't because they had so much but I think now that should have been the plan to keep them away from Kiarra's playhouse. Maybe! :lol :lol

But even with all of the hits as I was packing to return on Christmas Day I set my cosmetic bag down for barely five minutes and found Kalen playing in my lipstick and eye shadow.....Eiy yi yi. Give the kids the toys and they play with the boxes...:lol :lol

As we only have the 3 little kids in Ca. did not hve to worry bt toys this year--poor kids have 3 rooms full of toys--Granddaughter usually sorts and they share with children who do not have as much. I sent money for new computer game of their choice and had fun ording robes and house shoes for my Ellie. Onlyu 4 but already a clothes horse.

The photos of Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson were big hits. Of course, as they get older they tend to enjoy Ulyssus Grant and Benjamin Franklin a lot more!

We went the cash route too. Can't afford their wants and their Mom would kill us if we did get them their wants. They are being taught that they have to save for their big ticket items.

Yep, mine thought they were a hit. I got to see Jacob's talents yesterday on his rip stick...he's doing pretty good on it. It's a skateboard kinda thing but instead of 4 wheels it only has two and they are castor wheels.

We bought the new grandbaby a cute toy - only to find out a week before Christmas that she already had it. :( At least I hadn't wrapped it yet. Bought her another outfit and returned the toy. Found a cute little book for about $3 that crackles (I had to buy some type of toy) and she loves it.

We bought the grand-girls in Florida a sewing machine, threads, fabric and other sewing stuff and some Spiderman items for the grandson down there. They all were pleased.

Well I know in a few years my little guys will like the money too. But for now they are young and we enjoy giving them the toys. It was a good Christmas overall. I don't care if I have nothing under the tree, I just have so much fun watching the kids open their gifts. And they are so polite and thanked me so many times. That is all I need for Christmas.
