We will be sailing her on the 20th. We will be driving from Tampa and was wondering how easy it was to get to the parking lots??
Now I also noticed on my boarding pass that embarkation was at 1:30 PM but I heard a lot of people on this board say that they got to the pier by noon and by 12:30 PM they were eating lunch on the boat.... What time do they really open the lines for embarkation?

Thx

We too will be on the 20th sailing. I have sailed from Port Canaveral twice on the Pride
but it is my understanding the Glory uses a different dock than did the Pride. It is also my understanding there is a shuttle running to and from the parking lot to the ship.
Sounds like the drill is to drop off the wife and bags, go park, catch the shuttle back to the ship.

Re/ boarding at a certain time, that's hard to pin down as there are factors beyond the control of Carnival such as Customs, Immigration, weather delaying the ship getting back to port, etc. I would think that if you are there around 11 or so you would probably be on by 12:30 or 1 pm, again depending on whether or not there were delays getting the ship emptied.

Hope we have good weather.

The Glory is currently docked where the RCCL Sovereign of the Seas usually docks (I believe due to her size, they have not dredged out the Carnival terminal completely to accommodate her). Since that terminal is on the opposite side, there are buses running from the Carnival parking lot to the cruise terminal. I am 99% sure this is the case for now until the new parking garage that is being constructed is complete.

So if I understand it correctly, we can check-in anytime after 12p.m. just as long as the ship has not been delayed in coming in...So I guess, if I get there around 11 nish, I can plan on getting in my room and having lunch on the boat around 12 ish.

Also, what gate numbers is the Glory going to be in since I understand she occupies more than one "Gate"???

I'm not sure about gate numbers, but Pt. Canaveral has plenty of signs and personnel to direct you to the right place. I'm sure you will find it with no problem. Also, it has been my experience in the past that Carnival will start checking people in at the ticket counters around 11:30 but they don't start letting people on the ship until noon-12:30. We usually get there right around noon and are onboard having lunch by 1.

You may want to consider staying in a hotel in Port Canaveral, Some have free shuttle/parking (I know the Radisson does) You can spend the night for what you'd pay in parking fees, take the free shuttle to the terminal doors and avoid the headaches of parking/traffic. Just a thought.
