Parking at Port Canaveral...

I will be sailing on the Glory next month and will be driving to Port Canaveral from Tampa. Now I have heard that there is contruction going on there and that they won't let you park the car before noon. Is this still the case? How much do they charge for parking? Are there porters at the parking lot to help you with your luggage?
Also, I have my room booked on a "Guarantee" which means my luggage tags when the porter takes them will not have my room number on them. Is this going to make it a hassle to get my bags later on????

Parking at Port Canavral is $10 per day. Drive to the baggage check in area first before you park and a porter will unload your luggage. If you haven't received a cabin assignment prior to driving to the Port, the porter will have a passenger manifest that will show your cabin assignment. After your luggage is handled, simply drive to the parking area, pay the fee, and head for the check in line.

I parked at 10:45am with no problem, 10 per day.

It is really a very nice port!

For the Glory, you have to pull up and unload your luggage at terminal #9/10 and then drive over to terminal #5 to park. The port is in the process of building a parking garage at terminal # 9/10 to handle the extra traffic. Here is a response from the port concerning the on going complaints about the situation.

quote:

As a follow-up to your email to Dwight Fender and your communication with Bobby G., I wanted to assure you that your concerns have reached our executive director's attention. As a result, he has instructed that changes be made to alleviate as much frustration as possible associated with this temporary arrangement. As for your concern regarding your upcoming vacation, we are on track to complete our new multi-level parking garage at Cruise Terminal 9/10 by the end of the year.

Effective immediately, we have reworked our parking/shuttle process to address the inconveniences passengers experienced during the initial Glory voyages. We have made the following adjustments:
* We are providing 12 air-conditioned buses to speed up the process of transporting passengers from the parking lot to the cruise terminal;
* Passengers are assigned bus numbers with an additional driver on each bus to help with loading and unloading of luggage;
* We have hired 5 additional parking attendants to aid in smoother, more efficient traffic flow;
* We have improved our directional signage to improve traffic flows;
* We moved the embarkation points to the west side of the terminal for less congestion
* We are providing bottled water in the remote parking lot for guests waiting for transportation to the cruise terminal..

Again, thank you for your bringing your concerns to our attention. We continue to grow and improve our facilities to accommodate the needs of the cruise industry and to provide the highest level of service to passengers sailing from Port Canaveral.

Sincerely,
