I have been on two 3-day cruises in the past to the Bahamas and all I needed was my D.L. and my Birth Certificate. I am booked on the Carnival Legend in April 2003 and we will be going to Martinique, St. Maarten and Barbados, do I have to have a passport or can I use my D.L. and Birth Certificate? Please help me!

We have also done a few short cruises and the B/C was fine.
Today, most everyone is suggesting getting a passport no matter what.
We are going on our next cruise in March and we will be spending the $85.00 and getting them also.

As someone else stated................sometime in the near future you will be required to have one if you leave the 50 states.................might just as well beat the rush and get it now!

Your original birth certificate and government (state) issued picture drivers license will be acceptable. However, if you feel you will continue to cruise often, this is the time to invest in a valid Passport which is good for 10 years.

Hi there. Also, if you have a name different on your dl than on your bc, as many women do, you need to bring proof of name change, marriage license, divorce paper, etc, per my travel agent. Therefore I just went and applied for a passport, much easier than hauling around a file cabinet full of papers onboard! Have a great trip!
