Past Guest savings

What kind of discount does Carnival offer previous cruisers? I'm anxious to start looking at our next cruise, probably next fall, but since I haven't sailed with Carnival (yet) I'm still 'shopping around'. Money talks, and if Carnival's asking price after any discount doesn't grab me then I'll consider all cruise lines. Thanks in advance.

It's my understanding that Carnival only offers past guest discounts on select cruises...no way to know whether you can get one until you speak to Carnival or a travel agent.

Call Carnival's 800 number and ask to speak with a PVP. Your first question should be: Is there a past guest discount being offered right now? I've done this several times, and other times, there are other 'discounts' they will tell you about, which are not advertised anywhere. It's certainly worth asking.

You can only get past guest discounts if you have sailed that line before. Carnival does not give discounts unless you are a past guest of one of their cruise lines. You will also need a past guest number. Since you have only sailed Royal Caribbean, you will not be entitled to a past guest discount on Carnival.

You'll be a past guest of Carnival in a week and a half, so I'd just wait until ater your cruise to call them. :)

Once you get off that carnival ship- you will then start to receive the Currents magazine every quarter. This magazine will lsit what ship is up for a past guest cruiser.

we end up booking carnival again and again because of these savings.. even though I set out to sail with RCI or princess!!!!

we look for two things... first a cruise has to offer cabin upgrades. Usually in order to get theupgrade, you must book the catagory just above the guarentee... so not inside guarentee... must have 1a to be able to select a room.... with the free advertised upgrades then we get to the highest level in that catagory (highest deck). ie. we booked the triumph for thanksgiving... we wanted a balcony. our past guest # automatically moved us up one catagory from a BL(balcony guarentee) to a 6a (?) now because of the upgrade special... we were automatically upgraded to the highest balcony deck... veranda or something... we chose empress for personal choices. In the end... we only paid for the balcony guarentee price.... and both chose our room and were upgraded in deck levels.... does that make sense?

there are other specials that may make more sense to you to utilize... but this is how we utilize our past guest #'s! so for $799 on thanksgiving week, we have a balcony room on empress deck..... compare that to princess and RCI.... can't match it.... you get similar itinearys. We price similar itinirarys... with each cruise line for similar cabins..... carnival won every time but our repo cruise!!!!!
