Hi all,

I'm getting closer to making a decision. Right now, I'm considering the 7 day Southern Car. cruise on Princess leaving from San Juan vs. the 7 day RC Eastern Car. cruise on RCC. Leaning toward Princess. I believe it's the Golden Princess. Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks much!

We are cruising the Golden Princess one year from right now back to back Southern/ Southern Explorer....Did the Panama Canal 10 day one year ago..see a pattern here..:). we cruise on Princess every other year.. ;) .Been on 4 Princess cruises in the last 10 years. We adore them. =love .lot's of people really enjoy RCCL as well ,cannot say as not been on them ..Just to let you know we are in the 44-53 year old range..go dancing, casinos, swim and snorkel a lot..have a fabulous time on the Princess ships..Good Luck choosing..2 Formal Dress Nights you may choose to attend..an FYI..Princess's formal nights are VERY Formal- chi chi gowns / cocktail dresses..Dark suits/ tuxes.. or you can choose to dine casual in the Horizon Court..same awesome food. :chef .Princess is famous for their desserts too:grin..Happy cruise choosing..:).. Hey you're going on a cruise. :cheers .You cannot lose!!!.. :lol..:)..Joanne

I am doing the Golden Princess Southern Caribbean Exotic in May. I've sailed three times on the Grand and loved it, so I'll feel right at home on the Golden.

We just returned from a Golden Princess cruise 3 weeks ago (Eastern Carribean). Absolutely fabulous service. Anytime dining was a definite plus. Extremely anxious for another cruise on Princess. We did meet several people that had been on Royal carribean as well. They told us that the best lines were Princess and RCL. Everyone, acrossed the board advised against Carnival.
So much to do. We are 43 y/o. Great shows, lounges, food....wonderful time. No complaints other than having to purchase soft drinks. I feel if they can give me lobster and steak, then soft drinks should be included. Oh well.....
Golden was terrific! Have a wonderful time!

Hello New Cruiser, =welcome

Welcome to Cruise @ddicts. Lots of great information, lots of great people:thumb. We've never been on RCL, so we cannot honestly say one is better than the other. What we can say without hesitation though is that Princess gives you incredible value for your cruise$$$$$. Their ships are very well maintained, the food is excellent, the service (whether in the dining room, cabin, or anywhere shipboard) is very professional, attentive, and courteous, and you can count on the entertainment to almost always be very enjoyable too. Most people find their cabin designs to be comfortable, efficient, and accomodating in any class that you may choose. For your first time cruise experience, we strongly recommend Princess. They will give you a true feeling and impression of what the standard for quality cruising is.
Happy sailing,:lol
