Can someone give me an idea of the meals served at the Tequila Restaurant on Star Princess. OK, it is Mexican, however it is called upscale so does that mean we get upscale nachos?

I was under the impression that Tequilla's on the Star was replaced by the Sterling Steakhouse. In fact, next year at some point the Grand and Golden are also having their Mexican style restaurants converted to Sterling Steakhouses.

A good move IMO as the Sterling Steakhouses tha twe have been to on the Sun Class ships offered some of the BEST steaks we have had at sea. Of course the setting under the stars by the pool are with the Caribbean Breezes and starlit skies certainly helped also. :grin The Mexican Specialty Restuarant on the Golden (Desert Rose) was pretty good and had a nice Filet and the tequilla Lime Shrimp were good also. For the $8 charge pp which also included a Free Margharita IMO it was worth the experience.

We sailed on the Star a couple of weeks ago and ate at Tequilas. They offer several appetizers/soup/salad (the brie/papaya quesidallas, the artichoke/cheese dip, and the chili served in a bread bowl were all very good appetizers). You could select a large porterhouse, a medium sized New York strip steak, a ribeye steak, or a slightly smaller filet mignon as your main course. They might have had chicken, but I can't remember for sure. The entree is served with sauteed mushrooms, creamed spinach or corn casserole (or all three if you wanted) and baked potato and/or french fries and a choice of desserts. It all tasted good. The charge is now $15 per person, not $8 per person.

Gee I hope they keep the mexican restaurant, A steak house is just a steak house, I can get that at home!! When I travel I like to try something a little different from steak and potato.Besides I understand you can get plain stuff like that in the dining room any time.
