Personalizing Cruise

My HBS and I are departing on our first cruise on December 8th on the Golden Princess. I have accessed the website and tried to personalize our cruise, selecting robes and indicating we are going to be celebrating his birthday. I completed the immigration portion on-line and downloaded the rest of the forms. How do I request that the twin beds be converted into a queen? I have seen on different sites that you can request and "egg crate" for the bed also - how do I do that. We haven't decided on or if we want any shore excursions so I haven't done that yet. We are pretty laid back, relax with a drink kind of people so if anyone has any recommendations for Mazatlan or PV, I'd appreciate it.

I was kind of thinking about the swim with the dolphins - anyone have any info on that.

Thanks in advance

I would suggest that you call whoever you booked your cruise with (Princess directly or Travel Agent) and have them note that you want your bed in a queen sized configuration. Ask for the egg crate mattress cover at the same time. You may arrive in your cabin to find that the beds have not been converted but you can simply ask your steward to do this and it will be taken care of promptly...same for egg crate mattress cover, robes, etc.

When we visited Mazatlan on one of our Mexican Riviera cruises it was far and away my least favourite port but we did do a "one of the best ever" excursions there. We did the Colonial Villages tour and it really gave a wonderful insight to life in the small villages of Mexico. I would highly recommend it. Next time I'm in Mazatlan I want to try the Sierra Madre Tour.

Last April in Puerto Vallarta we did the Mexican Cooking Lesson and City Highlights tour. I'd seen the "highlights" of Puerto Vallarta before but I did enjoy the city tour again and I absolutely loved the "Cooking Lesson" part. It was great fun, the food we created was really good, and the shaded courtyard/restaurant where the "class" was held was clean, shaded and comfortable. I'd recommend it!

Beryl's right - contact your TA & have her request the beds together. It's a common question that the resv. agents at Princess ask the TAs, so this may have already been done. With the egg crate, your TA can also do this.

We had a great time in Mazatlan just hiring one of those open-air taxis. We had him take us to all the usual touristy spots and it was only $25 for the 4 of us for about 2-3 hours of touring.

PTOV - The ATV tour is great but sign up through Princess and sign up early, it sells out every time. And make sure and get the morning one the afternoon one is way too hot, and take old disposable pants and shoes.

These request can also be done directly thru Princess by calling a rep. Expect that U might have to remind your cabin steward when U get on as sometimes these request do NOT make it all the way from LA headquarters to your ship. In fact most of the time they do NOT but in MOST cases the cabin stewards are MORE than accommodating when this type of request is requested. :thumb
