Phillipsburg/St. Marten

We are cruising on the Westerdam in February. I noticed there will be six other ships at Phillipsburg on the same day as we are. That seems like a lot. Will it be chaos? We have not planned any excursions there. Can we just stroll around and check it out?

Wow - six ships are a lot. Figure an average of 2000 guests per ship, and that's 12,000 people in port! :dizzy

That being said, you should still have no problem getting a taxi over to the downtown area in Phillipsburg. The streets will be croweded with shoppers, but you will be able to get around and bargain with the vendors. =gallery The area is currently under construction though, so be careful.

If you're not into shopping, try an excursion with the ship. If you're more adventurous, rent a car to the right side of the pier and drive the island. When you get out of Phillipsburg, you should have no problem finding a quiet beach along the way. =love

Have fun! =funsign St. Maarten is my favorite!
