To whoever posted these,

http://www.cruise-addicts.com/photogallery/v/my+pictures/

That looks to be some pretty extreme seas, is there a story behind these pics, like for starters, where were they taken from, obviously not the ship :)

Has anybody been on a cruise that's been hit with weather like that? How well do things happen at that point, I have visions of dishes sliding around on the table while trying to eat...

I've never been on a cruise ship at all let alone in weather like that but I have been on some pretty ugly ferry crossings (I live in PEI so use ferries to get to the main land) I've been on crossings where if you didn't hold on, the ship would toss you in the air as you try to walk down a passageway. Cant say that I would enjoy that for longer than the 2-3 hours that trip took...

The pictures were taken when the ship was being moved from one port to the port of New Orelans to service the workers.

If passengers were on this ship there is no way the captain would have sailed the ship there- The cruise would have been averted to totally different ports/

Please don't let my husband see those pictures. He would pay big money to have been on that ship.

The photo was taken from Sensation that was also headed for the FEMA charter. The two ships were traveling together as a safety precaution.

That was nothing, early May of 2005, I was on a transatlantic crossing on the Brilliance of the Sea. For a day and a half we were in 100 mile per hour winds, 35 to 45 feet waves. On the fourth floor atrium they had to put towels at the edges to soak up the sea water that was coming in from the waves.

Every now and than the bow would raise dramactically and come crashing down with a loud thud. Of course all outside areas of the ship was locked. The storm didn't bother me too much. But one member of our party swore off transatlantic crossings.

The big waves don't bother me, but my wife is another story. We were on the Conquest last year when Hurricane Wilma hit, she past 4 hours ahead of us on our way out. All I can say is the next morning I was the ONLY ONE at the breakfast buffet!! It was actually quite nice :) Although the Barf Bags taped to the walls and in the elevators were kind of funny!!

Wow, that's crazy. I always wonder what our ship looked like back in 1995. We were in Hurricane Erin on my very first cruise. I was 13yrs old. And though I had a blast the first 24hrs of the waves and such. It totally effected me the next day. As I had gotten sea sick. I tried though, that 2nd night to get out of the cabin and walk around and try to "walk it off", maybe try going to the buffet for dinner, well I got up to the main dining room (we weren't going in there... just walked by) and saw all the barf bags lined up along the halls and stuff. I just couldn't take anymore, just seeing people walk like they were drunk made me ill. So needless to say I lost it...lost it all LOL. And didn't make it to the buffet, had to go back down to the cabin for the remainder of the night.

But those are some awesome looking pictures. If it ever got that bad for me, I can probably be safe by saying I wouldn't be enjoying my cruise the same way I would be if in a normal cruise situation LOL
