We just got back from the GLORY on Saturday with this being my 2nd cruise as a Platnium Guest!
OMG it is sooo worth it! If you are close but just not there yet then it would be worth it to take a little cheapy quick cruise to get your status up there!!!
Everything that someone just posted above is true about Platnium Status.
I'll recap though from our Cruise last week some of the perks how it really plays out in "real life' using Port Canaveral & Going on The Glory!
1. Getting to the port there is a special door for VIP/PLAT guests & they are overly nicer to you, then you go to a special area JUST for us that has 2 agents where you sit down till they can get to you which is quick... they do all your docks and check in right there while you are seated. THEN escourt you thru past everyone right up to the front of the line to get your Welcome Aboard Picture and then onto the ship!
2. While there anytime you need to go to the Pursers desk there is a little section at the end that says for VIP/PLAT guests only & everytime I went down there-THERE WAS NEVER a wait or line. Granted got some not so lovely looks from people waiting in the horrible lines!
3. Room Service called to see what time on 2 different nights we would like our little Petit Fours delivered and time for the other yummies.
4. The night before the first port in our room was a really handy nice Carnival carry bag. I used the first one I had to death so I am glad they gave me another one this cruise.
5. When getting off in the ports that you don't have to go thru imagration thru when YOU are ready to get off then you just go down to the pursers desk and they will WALK YOU down to the gangway and bypass everyone!
6. For the Virigin Islands since we had to go thru Imaga they had all the Plat people meet in a bar & they took care of us all at once on the ship before they called for the other decks and excursions to get off the ship.
7. The $20 is for either the Black Jack Tournie or the Slot one! Both times I have been Plat I did the Slot tournie! It was sooo much fun... this time I made it to the finals and came in 4th place!
8.The whole cruise everyone that worked on the ship when seeing the Plat card was much nicer and would say welcome back.. much more than when I was a Gold. I am a Plat and my husband is still a Gold and honestly they were nicer to me! Ha ha!
9. When leaving the ship for the final time...Plat gets off first! It's sooo nice... there is a special area for us to wait. ALSO, they have already pulled off your luggage and have it all together in a special area.
10. They did leave Plat paper and envelopes 2 of each with my name on it in the room.
11. LOVED the free laundry service!!! They washed and folded for free as much as you had the whole time & as long as you had it ready by 10am they had it back to you by 10pm! I had 2 bags done! Made it sooo much easier for me this week when I got home!
Some perks that would be nice to offer Plat cruisers... maybe some discounts on anything on the ship, Priority Book of the cruises, & most importantly letting us by pass the lines to get BACK ON the ships in the ports maybe by letting us use the Deck line or something like that.
