This seems like a situation where your most reliable answer is ONLY going to come from Carnival themselves.  If I were in your position, I would call Carnival and without mentioning that you've already booked, question a different agent with your circumstances and See what they tell you.  If it appears questionable, ask to speak with someone at a higher level.
