Please make room for another prayer request

I found out today that a dear friend (actually, Richard Crenna's aunt) has stage 4 cancer. This dear sweet lady is 91, and just had open heart surgery two years ago that she handled very well. I suspect they won't be doing any chemo, her daughter said maybe a little to make her comfortable but not enough to make her sick. (I don't get that, maybe a medical person can explain???) We know she won't recover, so prayers that she does not suffer.

I hope her remaining days are peaceful and pain free.

I will send prayers her way.

Glo.......on the way! Wishing your friend a comfy transition. My guess is that the low dose treatment would be to give her more time, but with a good quality of her time left. I can't say if that is good or bad.

I adored her nephew throughout his career.......from Our Miss Brooks to the Real McCoys (YES, I am OLD!) ..... to many, many TV movies and I loved him as Tyne Daly's love interest on Judging Amy..........gone way to soon!

Julie said that when Richard Crenna had cancer, he denied ever being in any discomfort. Up until the week he died, he would tell everyone that talked to him that he was doing just fine and he was going to beat it. Knowing his aunt, I am sure she will do the same.

I am sending prayers too that she will have comfortable days ahead. Count me as another fan of her nephew....

More prayers are on the way. Sometimes lighter doses of chemo are given to lessen troublesome symptoms, and it's also called palliative therapy. It reduces tumor burden but isn't strong enough to eradicate the tumor. May her time remaining be pain free.
