This is our first cruise. Please suggest some excursions for us:
We will be traveling in November of this year to the Eastern Caribbean.
Here are a couple of the ports: San Juan, St. Thomas, and Nassau.

Thanks, Amy

I haven't been to San Juan or Nassau. But there is an excursion available from St Thos (St thos is the shopping center of the caribbean)that takes you to St John which is a US underwater national park and a very beautiful island. The only town there, Cruz Bay is like something from a postcard. I believe the excursions can take you to Trunk Bay on St John. I have been to many, many beaches throughout the Caribbean but Trunk Bay remains one of the most beautiful. You often see a photo of it in the travel agencies. I do warn you though that it can be busy when cruise ship passengers pile in there.

We would probably be most interested in snorkeling, adventure, and active excursions. Thanks for your help.

All of those places have web sites designed & run by various tourism boards. You may get some better ideas there.

In San Juan go to Fort Morro. people have also said the rainforest tour is nice.

St. Thomas -- just across from the dock is a cable car ride (you can walk to the top too). The view is spectacular but this whole thing only takes about 1 hour. Shopping is fun there too.

I'm not a big fan of Nassau but you should see it once. Skip Atlantis unless you get a room for the day (about $200) you can't use the facilities. There are self guided walking tours. You can go to the pirate museum & to the straw market. We perfer to sit by the uncrowded pool on the ship.

Enjoy.

Re 1/2 day sail St Thomas

Hello- we were in St Thomas middle of May on the Carnival Truimph. We took a 1/2 day sail and went snorkeling, then back to town for shopping. The daysail was 3 1/2 hours, and was great. We had plenty of time to swim and snorkle, had a snack onboard and lots of rum punch. You might want to try this type of excursion rather than a full day.
Website is www.interlinesail.com

Cost was $65.00 each, and well worth it. Hope this helps.

In St. Thomas you can go to Megan's bay. I prefer Coki beach. It's lovely especially earlier in the day. Excellent food and drinks and some snorkeling. They also have rental equipment.

San Juan........El Morro if you like forts.

Nassau.........we usually go shopping and stay aboard but Atlantis is wonderful too. We have gone there a few times.

The excursion that takes you to St. Thomas, gives you a day visit to St. John, Trunk Bay Beach. One of the most romantic and satifying experiences. Excellent snorkling, food at the concession stand and relaxing environment.

We just returned from the Eastern Carib on Navigator and one of the highlights of our trip was a day sail in St Thomas. There was a maximum of 6 guests on the boat and we went to a cove for the most awesome snorkrling I have ever experienced. The boat has a wonderful Capt and mate that was informative and fun. Check out www.sailhighpockets.com. Trip included lunch, drinks, everything and well woth it.

For St Thomas may I suggest a tour using www.godfreytoursVI.com
His excursions was 20 bucks. He picks you up at the pier at 9-10 OR 11am. (we chose 10) and then takes you downtown for shopping until noon. (2 hours was plenty for us) at noon he will tell you where he will pickyou all up at to head out for a 2 hour tour of the island. Even took us to Mountain top which is the highest point of the island. (beats the Paradise tram for views) there is a soverneier shop there too, after the tour he will take you to a beach (Coki, Saphire or Magtens Bay) for 2 hours of swimming/snorkling. if you dont want to swim he can take you back to the ship.
