It was very easy...when you get onto Galveston Island you will look (oops forgot the street name I will have to get back with you on the name)well...Once you are on the street that runs parallell to the piers you will find several parking lots where you can park your vehicle. It was $40.00 to park for 5 days-$8.00 per day $5.00 more if you want to park under a canvas type covered area. They will shuttle you to the pier.On the return they will shuttle you back to your parking lot just remeber what lot you parked at.We used Dolphin Parking and had no problems whatsoever.
We satyed the night before in A Howard Johnson about 4.6 miles from the pier but Beware they have lots of Mosquitos at that hotel as it is next to a channel.

Have fun. It was real easy to get on board and return to our vehicle afterwards.

IMHO... I would plan on arriving at the pier around 10:30AM. The departing passengers should be gone by then. The port is well marked, and you will be directed to a luggage drop-off for Carnival. I would leave the family with the luggage and sea cap, and there will be signs (& policemen) directing you to the parking lots. A Free shuttle will bring you back to the front door of the terminal. Everything is well marked, and early in the morning the whole process should be 15 to 20 minutes MAX....

We arrived in Galveston about 12:15 for the Jubilee sailing at 4pm. We parked in Dolphin Parking which was very nice because they take you and your luggage to the pier so you don't have to dump the family and luggage at the pier, go park and ride a shuttle back and find them. (Was also nice when we got back, they loaded our luggage onto the bus, it was pouring down rain. They drove us back to the parking lot and we left from there. The traffic is TERRIBLE at the pier waiting to pick up and drop off people!)

We arrived at the pier around 12:30. There were no lines at all. We were all checked in and on the ship by 12:45. It was really fast. I highly recommend getting there early.

We went the night before, stayed at the Commodore, and they let us leave our car there the entire week (free), plus shuttled us back and forth. It was very easy. Getting to the ship early is the way to go.
