Port Change for Diamond Princess

I've just sent out e-mail notifications to my Clients, but the port for Diamond Princess on voyages M441 through M517 has been changed from Long Beach to San Pedro (Port of Los Angeles). Government fees and taxes have increased $6.06 as well.

I would suggest that those sailing Diamond Princess to the Mexican Riviera after the end of her Alaska Season contact their TA's if you haven't already been notified.

Wow! I wonder how many passengers won't be notified? Can you imagine the confusion and hassle? What a mess that could be if the TAs aren't on-the-ball? :?

Hi,
I'm sailing on the Diamond October 30th and my TA called me on Thursday but did not mention the port change? I was only told about the tax increase?

Thanks for the information as I'll give my TA a call on Monday.

thanks,
Alley

My TA notified me last week so there is no problem for us. But those who
have booked a hotel either pre or post cruise should have been notified
by their TA immediately upon receipt of the notice from Princess.

Fortunately, San Pedro (Port of Los Angeles) and Long Beach aren't far from each other, so it's not a major, major change - but those affected will need to be notified.

Hi Shipmaven,
Thanks for the update! Can you tell us the dates these cruises fall between? I don't see the voyage number on my booking confirmation (or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place).
Thanks!
Joyce

We got the notification of port change in the mail last week for our cruise that does not leave until March of 2005, so it looks like Princess is right on top of this.

Our last two cruises on the Star Princess, which had the identical itinerary, went out of San Pedro rather than Long Beach, so we were surprised that it was not that way from the beginning.

Thanks for the heads up. We sailed the Sun out of Pedro and the Star out of LB. Actually, embarkation out of Pedro was much smoother. This might be a plus.
