The times quoted are normally the times that you Dock and leave. Yes sometimes it takes a while but usually that is for some security/immigration reason. The ships into Alaska are cleared for USA before sailing from Vancouver or if you leave from the North or South they are in US to start so there is seldom any delay. Dock tie up and get off sort of thing. Usually just weather and mechnical slow things up in Alaska.
