for a friend here who has two small children, and is facing a double mastectomy in two weeks to fight cancer.

Her life is already hard enough, as one child is autistic.. and now this.
So perhaps you can all help out with your prayers please.

Aww Red, how sad. the hardest part of the mastectomy surgery is that she won't be able to lift, or maybe even hold her children for many weeks to come. This will be so hard for them to understand.
If any of her friends ask how they can help, go to the house and divide up the household chores on a routine basis for several weeks, laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning, babysitting, driving errands, etc. Maybe someone could coordinate that for her and take sign ups???? If it were me, I would appreciate someone taking the children for the morning, afternoon or evening so I could rest without worrying about them.

I will certainly keep them in my prayers.
Hugs, Mari

Oh Red, I am so sorry to hear of your friend’s plight. We will keep her in our prayers.

While we were on Glory I was surprised to find that Carnival has a new program in support of the Susan G. Komen Organization called “On Deck for The Cureâ€Â. For a $10.00 donation they do a one mile walk onboard (they encourage higher donations this is the minimum to participate. From the $10. only $2.50 is used toward the admin fees with include a tee shirt and pink wrist band. There was a good turn out in this on the Glory. If they do this on every ship and sailing what a GREAT way to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

Denise, I think it's great that Carnival has started this. Hopefully other cruiselines will follow.

Red - Prayers are being sent. I wish I was closer as I would be glad to help this woman out with cooking, cleaning and child care while she fights this. I hope that she has a good support network around her and will be thinking of her.
