Prayers for Leon's niece Irma

Leon's oldest niece lost her only son, age 47 this week. He was discovered dead in his apartment on Tuesday with a lump on his head and his doctor feels that Robbie had a dizzy spell, fell and received a concussion, most likely last Saturday. His mother fell apart when she was told that it would be impossible to have an open casket funeral, and that she wouldn't be allowed to see him due to severe decomposition of his body. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it would be for a mother to not be able to see her child. Her husband passed away about a year and a half ago, so she is completely devastated.

Leon is having surgery Tuesday to remove the cataract in his left eye, but he's been looking forward to it since he had the right one done several years ago. It sounds like the Opthomology profession is making loads of money from our @ddicts family this year, as cataract surgery seems to be necessary for so many folks lately.

My deepest condolences, that is an awful thing for a parent to go thru, and I am so sorry that he had to die like that.

Jacquie - what horribly tragic news about Leon's niece and her son. May God comfort the poor lady and all the family. We just never know, do we?

Good luck to Leon on Tuesday. Yes, I believe the @ddicts' community is, indeed, supporting Opthalmologists throughout the country.

Poor Irma and her son :( Such sad news, sending positive thoughts her way.

Good luck to Leon with his cataract surgery
I have just treated Phils eye with the 3 different eye drops followed by his ointment. His vision is getting better everyday which is amazing considering he had only very blurred peripheral vision in that eye!

Such sad news for the family, losing someone so young. As for the closed casket, I believe it is much better to remember your loved one as they were in life. My mother died from pancreatic cancer & was literally a skeleton--if you didn't know it was her you would never have recognized her. Before she died she told me she wanted her siblings (a very close family of 7 that lived in all parts of the country) to remember her at a time when she was happy & smiling not like she did when she died. She did not want them to come see her while she was ill. Her siblings did not return & as I spoke to each of them on the phone I told them she wanted to be remembered as she was in happy times so they each should take a minute & think back about happy times they had together & remember her that way, not as a sister that died from cancer.

Good luck to Leon on the upcoming surgery.

We found out this evening that Robbie passed away from an aneurysm in his brain. The coroner told his mom that even if he had been in the hospital at the time, he couldn't have been saved.
