Prayers requested for SIL of a dear Friend

Forever Remembered
The son-in-law of a dear friend fell off a 20 ft. ladder at work yesterday and shattered his hip and broke his femur in 2 places. He won't be able to walk for at least 3 months and it will be 6 months to a year before he can go back to work. He's in surgery today, but his MIL has had no news yet.

It will be very much appreciated if you can please keep him and his family in your prayers. Thank you.

Prayers on the way. Just hope he didn't hit his head or jar it.

Thank you, Liz. No, fortunately he did not hit his head - damage area was from hip to knee. My friend Jean's (the lady who has been so helpful to me) husband was killed ten years ago when he fell from a ladder and hit his head.

The young man is now out of surgery and in recovery. The procedure took considerably longer than anticipated, but prospects for long-term recovery seem much improved. Let's hope so!

Again, thank you for your prayers.

Prayers are on the way. There must be something going on with ladders lately. A friend fell off one and broke his ribs and dislocated his shoulder.

Hip injuries can be so long term; here's hoping that he has a complete recovery.

DS#3 was here yesterday on a ladder cleaning our gutters. I was worried the whole time that he didn't have it angled right--there was 1 very difficult spot to reach--but he finally got the job done.

Oh my. I sincerely hope that this young man is able to recover uneventfully, and can follow doctors orders so he can recover without incident. I know how stubborn young men can be. Prayers his family can handle this too, it will be difficult for everyone.

Thank you, @ll.

Had an update this morning that he's in good spirits with the help of pain medication.

Your prayers, good thoughts and good wishes are very much appreciated. I understand he's not the type of person who likes to sit still so this will be a challenge for him. Let's hope his recovery is, indeed, uneventful and that he heeds the instructions of his doctors.
