We are due to sail out of Tampa on the Grandeur in 7 days!!! Does anyone have suggestions for a hotel the night before? Also, what time would you suggest we get to the port?? Thanks!!

Well this may not suit your needs, but we wanted something nice and cheap and those two things usually don't mesh. And we are not sailing until 4/22 so we haven't actually stayed here yet, but from my research it seems to fit the bill. It is the Comfort Inn Raymond James and we got it on hotels.com for $90.43 per night, including all taxes and charges. The hotels near the dock were $200+ per night.

They have complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and within a 5 mile radius, and small fee for other area attractions. The dock is about 8 miles from the hotel, so we figured we could just arrange for them to drop us off on the day of departure. They have an onsite restaurant/bar/outdoor pool. There were quite a few restaurants in the area that we figured would satisfy our needs for one night. And if you book through hotels.com, you can print off buy one get one free coupons from the site for local restaurants and attractions.

Like I said, don't know if you are on a budget like us, but I thought I would add my 2 cents.

We are staying overnight on the day we get back. Check La Quinta's web site and be sure to tell them if you are a Sam's club member or a government worker. The government discount is the best of the two. We also haven't stayed there, or at any La Quinta but we'll only be there long enough to maybe jump in their pool, MAYBE go to Busch Gardens, sleep, eat their complimentary breakfast and shuttle to the airport.

The reps I talked to seemed pretty nice. Good luck.

:)-D:girl Dear friend i am staying at the best western westshore in tampa with my two children and i paid 99.00 dollars plus tax that includes sail and park free and a shuttle to and from the port. now i know that doesn't sound cheap but you need to consider that the port will charge you about 8 dollars a day and add taxes also so your hotel will be almost free. and worry free too. that has to :girlycount for something=docdance
