Pre-Landcruise Hotels in Fairbanks

As part of my advanced planning for June 2012 landcruise, I am researching pre-landcruise hotels in Fairbanks. i am traveling in a group of 3 couples and we plan to explore Fairbanks for 2-3 days prior to the official start with Princess. Not really concerned with staying at Princess hotel. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I just returned from a business meeting in Fairbanks. We stayed at the Bear Lodge part of the Wedgewood Resort. Nice property. Lots of other cruise lines had folks staying there in the land tour part of their adventure.
