The prices are lower for our cruise on the Zaandaam Mar. 1 according to the website today. We did not go through the cruise line. Is there any way we can get the cheaper price? We went through CruCon and they said no,but I thought we would check to see if anyone else knows something different.

What HAL is doing here is rapidly becoming cruise industry wide, in that when they have unsold cabins after the date for pinal payment (70 days prior to cruise date in this case), they will offer those cabins at a deep discount for "new bookings only". In this way, they avoid passing the reduced rate along to passengers who booked early. Personally, I think it backfires on them, as many cruisers will catch on and delay booking 'til the reduced rates become available. I do not think you will be sucessful in getting the reduced rate given the tactic HAL is using here.

Ditto Cruzman.....

WE were always people who booked very far in advance. We find HAL's new policy to be unfair and, in turn, we will begin to book our cruises less than 70 days out and take advantage of the deep discounts. If we find a cruise we like in the cabin category we always book....great. If, on the slim off chance, we cannot get it....we'll find another cruise. We cruise so much each year that if it isn't one cruise, no big deal, we'll take a different one.
