I'm going on a cruise on the sun to alaska. I am wondering if anyone has any info on this cruise and also if they have any info about the food. I have heard horrible and excellent reviews on the food. Finally, what are the prices for the nice resturants and which ones are they. Thank you

We were on this cruise in June. My family thought the food in the main dining rooms was delicious!!! We especially liked most of the chilled soups. My kids (ages 18 & 20) had never had them before, but quickly became great fans. The entrees were very good -- there is lobster one night if you're interested that my husband thought was great -- and we thought there was a good variety. The deserets were wonderful, and included cherries jubilee and bananas foster. Since we were being very well fed, we didn't try any of the pay restaurants. With 4 of us, I'd rather save my money for shore excursions.

According to the freestyle daily, these were the prices as of the week of June 6th:

Il Adagio -- $12.50 pp
East Meets West -- $15.00 pp
Le Bistro -- $15.00 pp
Ginza -- "A La Carte" pricing (also a $10 all you can eat Sushi special)
Pacific Heights -- no cover charge

The food at the buffets wasn't as good. Certainly edible, but nothing to write home about.

We were also on the cruise in June. The two main resturants: seven seas and four seasons have no cover charge and are included. We loved the food and view out the windows. I also thought the buffet was good for a buffet but the deserts always looked better than they tasted

Le Bistro and East meets West were excellent and should not be missed. Il Adagio was also very good. I would go back on this ship just because of those restaurants.
