My travel group is thinking of taking a 7 day cruise on this ship in Feb 2006. Has anyone ever sailed this cruise? What were your experiences?

With an American crew don't expect to be waited on hand and foot.... The islands are wonderful, the ship is a beauty, but the American crew is something else.... However, it appears the service is getting better after reading several of the newer reviews....

I just came back from a cruise on Pride of Aloha. I sailed on her from Aug. 21-28. I agree that the service needs to be improved. One morning we arrived in the dining room at 8:00 and never received our eggs. We had a 9:15 tour to go on. One evening, our desserts did not arrive until we complained. Another server brought us our desserts. Service is not comparable to other cruises that I have been on and I have been on 23 cruises. Given what you pay, service on comparable lines is much better.

There are recent reviews posted on www.cruisecritic.com under both the ship review section and the NCL forum. There is another good one on www.cruisemates.com in the NCL forum. These reviews are very good. It seems that this ship is getting better with time. I am sailing on the Aloha in May 2006. The general idea I get about this ship is: if you are looking for the cruise experience.....no. It you are looking for a great way to see the islands in one week...yes. Most of your time will be spent in port. I like the idea of getting to visit all of these islands without having to pack & unpack every other day. I have cruised before, so I am not worried about not having lazy days at sea. I want to see Hawaii! Be sure to post a review if you decide to go!
