Do you like it early on in the trip, or do you like it on the wrap-up? And, why? :)

we have only been once (1st cruise last year) and ours was at the end - we thought this was great because after several days of exploring the ship and ports - it was a welcome rest with nothing planned but hanging out on the beach .

We were on the Grand May 25th and Princess Cays was our last stop . It was a great relaxing way to end the cruise.

We went in May and it was our first stop and we really enjoyed it. However we do still prefer it at the end. After visiting the islands and roaming the ship it is nice to unwind and just have a beach day before we have to come home.

I prefer it at the end. I've done it both ways, but at the end it makes a nice conclusion for the cruise. Almost a decompression day for one last taste of the islands before back to reality... especially after a day or two at sea.

I've always gone as the first port and like it that way...kind of starts me off into that "relaxation" mode...!

Gotta say I also prefer it at the end as it is a nice leisurely way to end the cruise and get ready for the hussle and bussle of the travel home.

We've done it both ways also - beginning and end and I think we prefer the end. It's the day we look forward to all week. We just love that beach!

We've been there when it wasn't so lovely though. Last time, the ketchup packets were flying around at the BBQ area and sticking to people. One pickle relish packet stuck to a girl's arm and she didn't even know it. (It was pretty funny to watch.) It was so windy, sand was blowing into our hamburgers and the tenders could hardly make it to shore. The ocean water was ice cold and to top it all off, I stepped on a piece of glass and cut my foot.

The funny thing is, we went the SAME exact week the year prior and it couldn't have been more perfect! Strange, huh?

While I would prefer it at the end, since the stop to Princess Cays gets cancelled quite often to due weather and having to tender, I would rather have my disappoint at the beginning of the cruise, rather than the end. If you are on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary and the stop gets cancelled, you end up with 4 sea days out of 7. On the Western, you get 3, instead of two. During this spring, it seemed like Princess Cays was being missed every other week due to weather. Luckily for us, we were able to stop...and it was our first stop on the Western Caribbean. I worried about weather and was delighted we had such a nice day.
