I dunno, guess it's just me, but I never thought it was such a big deal. Lower deposit for you, but "hook the fish while on board" for the cruise line. I'm sure research shows them that once people put down a deposit, they are less likely to cancel, etc.I guess it's an advantage if you're sure about future sailings far into the future, where you can use the money to better advantage before final payment is due.
