Hello,

I will be going on the Golden Princess on April 1, 2009 and am wondering about the prices for the drinks?
I have heard that you can buy a coke/pop card for 4.XX per day but can you buy a card for coffee/juice? Is there a way to get the drinks included?

Thanks for all your help!

On Princess you will pay for juice after the breakfast service is finished...don't ask me why, it's just the way it is. If you drink a lot of juice you may want to order extra delivered to your cabin at breakfast time and keep it in the fridge for later in the day....tip accordingly :) !

You can buy a coffee card....I think there were 15 punches on the card for specialty coffees and you could also get unlimited fresh brewed coffee and specialty teas by showing the card. It cost $27.60 including the gratuity.

I know of no way to get the drinks included except to switch to a much more inclusive and much more expensive cruise line. You can get a "free" drink if you attend the Captain's Welcome Aboard Party. :grin

On our last cruise I didnt get a coffee card-- I paid as I went since I only drink 1 cup a day-- I went to a bar located in the lobby and got a 16oz to go cup for $1.00

I'd cheerfully pay as I go for the fresh brewed coffee....I buy the coffee card for the specialty coffees...I especially love the cappuccino.

I am an herbal tea drinker. I typically take tea with me, as I can usually find hot water available. Is this true on Princess, or will have need to purchase the specialty coffee card to get herbal and green tea?

Yes, you will find hot water available on Princess. So, as you said above, if you take tea with you, you will not need to purchase the specialty coffee card ...

I noted with interest the comments about taking your own tea bags etc, on the Diamond Princess I found it quite difficult to get really hot water, I could order it from room service but even in the insulated jugs by the time it reached the cabin it had cooled a lot, we then tried getting it from the restaurant and running to the room with it but then our oversealous steward would remove the jug as soon as he saw it!! I would have loved a hot cup of tea and that was the only small thing that slightly marred our wonderful trip!!
