I sailed on the Sun Princess on 1/10, this was the 4th time I have sailed on her, the last time was July 2003.

Overall, it was a great cruise and the Sun is in good shape, although, I feel she needs to go in for a dry dock for some overhauls, painting, fixing doors, etc. I was told that this is planned for later this year.

One reason I say this is...last July when I sailed on her, the men's restroom on deck 7 in the atrium had a curtain over the door, as the glass door had broken. That same door was still broken and another one on deck 6 was also broken. Now, I can't see why those doors couldn't have been fixed.

We had the outbreak of the Noro while on board and the crew handled it fantastically. You were unable to serve yourself at the buffet at all, which after seeing the way some people handle the utensils, I was glad. We at most meals in the dining room and it took no longer.

The food was good to outstanding and the Sterling Steak House is fantastic. Service was excellent in the dining room. Shows (which we had seen) were very good and one of our favorite enteretainers, Tony Cherry was on board, he is outstanding.

Any specific questions?

CruiseAholic : Thanks for the review. I just wanted to find out what the condition of the Sun was. It has been 4 years since we were on it. This will be our 4th on her. She has been around since 12/95 and haven't seen when she was in dry-dock lately. Did they have the Captain's Luncheon for the most frequent cruisers? That is really one of the best meals and get together. What did Tony Cherry do? Thanks again!

Yes, there were about 30 at the most frequent cruisers luncheon, I was about #6. It was held in the restaurant for brunch at 10:00 am and was very nice. The best part was the dessert, peanut butter mousse with chocolate pieces and fruit!

Tony Cherry does impersonations (Tom Jones, etc) and some comedy. Have seen him on several cruises and enjoy him immensely.
