Princess NY Hotel Booking Concerns (New York Sheraton Hotel & Towers)

Hi,

I am booked for a Caribbean Princess cruise in May! We have also planned some extra days in New York before our cruise, as well as after the cruise to enjoy New York while we are there.

Princess uses the New York Sheraton Hotel & Towers as their hotel, but I have some concerns. I have been checking out hotel reviews online, and there are quite a few really bad reviews on this hotel. There are complaints about dirty rooms, broken AC/heat, noisy (Can hear neighbors), and really small rooms. They say that the hotel rooms are outdated and in need of renovations even though the lobby and exterior are beautiful.

It seems like the reviews I can find are VERY bad, or very good. But compared to other NY hotels I have looked at, this seems to have a lot of really low scoring unhappy reviews.

I’d love to hear some feedback from other people who booked with Princess for the extra nights in New York and how their stay was, what you thought of the hotel etc.

Also any tips or advice on things to do in New York, places to eat or things we just shouldn’t miss while we are there is greatly appreciated!

I always book my own hotel in NYC, I have stayed at the Sheraton a long time ago and ot was fine then. The location of the hotel is excellent walking distance to all the Broadway plays, Letterman and great resturants. The Pizza place next to Letterman is excellent name is Angelo ( I think ). You can get half price tickets for the Broadway plays on the day of the show ( tkts about 46th and Broadway ) . I Love taking cruises out of NYC, took Princess in 2007 and 2008 out of nyc ( Brooklyn ).

If you want to avoid the high prices of NYC hotels .... Consider staying across the river ... Newark, Union City, Seacacus, Jersey City. Good rooms, at about 1/5 - 1/8 the price!

I have nothing against Jersy, but staying on Broadway surrounded by great plays and resturants or Jersy, your on vacation stay in the big Apple
