I've done 24 Princess cruises and have cruise most of the other main stream lines.  I find Princess to be a consistently good product for the money.  The food is excellent (in my opinion, and food opinions are strongly subjective), the shows good, service excellent.   The ships are elegant, not overly Las Vegas style.
