Priority boarding - Platinum perks

Hi all,

When we sail the Enchantment this fall it will be our first time to sail since reaching Platinum status. I hear platinum members get: "Priority check-in (where available)".

So can anyone tell precisely what that entails, how do you go about getting this "priority check-in". Are there signs to follow, or what?

And do you know if Fort Lauderdale is one of those "where available" places. Somehow I don't ever remember seeing any "priority check in" signs for previous cruises, but then I wasn't looking for them either.

Not sure about FLL, but in Miami and LA, you're seated in a different section than everyone else. If there's only one Platinum member in your party, your whole party can sit with you in the Platinum area. They had cookies, water, & I believe, coffee in Miami.

When it's time to board, you leave the seating area according to your number that they've given you. Priority people go first (and there's usually quite a lot of them).

Princess really handles it better IMO. With them, you can wander around a separate room, enjoy pastries and drinks and then they hold off everyone else while the Priority members walk onto the ship. (We didn't like the way RCI makes you sit in chairs in lines like mis-behaving children. :lol =dunno )

There is priority boarding for Platinum and higher in FLL. I cruised out of FLL back in December and there was a separate area for suite and C&A members Platinum and higher. They also boarded first.

Last year on my Freedom cruise there was no lounge for us in Miami.
After the check in they just passed us to the line for wait to get onboard, however we we boarded before gold and non gold members.
