Just returned from TransAtlantic crossing on the Brilliance of the Seas and spent an extra day in Barcelona, we found a wonderful English speaking cab driver named Armando Panedas his e-mail is armandopanedas@vodafone.es (he is a part of a group of drivers and we only have experience with Armando). He is knowledgeable and informative. We used him 2 days ago on 05-11-04 and highly reccomend him for a taxi ride as well as a 4 or 8 hr tour, (if you use him please mention that the folks from Missouri told you about him). good luck and have a wonderful time.

Armando took us on a taxi tour of the cathedrals, the gothic quarter, the Gaudi houses, and the sights of las ramblas. It rained all day so we felt fortunate to see and do as much as we did-the temperature was unseasonably cool (lower 60's). A wonderful department store is located in the middle of las ramblas, it is called El Corte Ingles and it is 9 stories tall with a restaurant, grocery store, and bakery. It is located on a corner of the Placa de Catalunya.

Dick,
sounds like an amazing tour guide! How much did the tour cost you? We will be in Barcelona in September and may try to contact him and arrange a tour. Will be sure to mention you!

We also used Armando on a tour last Fall when we stopped in Barcelona on a Holland America cruise. He is excellent.
