Puzzled over Antigua

For those of you that have recently been to Antigua on a cruise, I am hoping you can share with us your best sight seeing suggestions of this island. We'll be there for only 8 hours in early April as our cruise ship pulls in to dock. We're wanting to do more land sight seeing/and shopping, verses water sports.
Thanks for your help!

Are you going to rent a car? Roads can be bad, but usually Ok to get around if you are OK with left side of the road.
Dickerson Bay is nice to see. Nelson's Dockyard is OK. Just ride around the island and visit some of the hotel and resort properties.
Sandals Antigua on Dickerson is nice.
You could drive and stop at one of the properties and walk the beach. Beachs are public, but access is private. Just find one that doesn't prevent you from getting to the beach. There could be a guard at Sandals Antigua preventing you from walking on to the property from the beach, but you could try. . Haven't been there in a while. Hawksbill has a clothing optional beach and a fairly nice property to visit.
I remember a restaurant called JAWS which was walking distance from a Ramada Property-(Royal Antiguan), Name may have changed,--- With 365 beaches, you could have a good time if you like beaches.
Oh! It is pronounced ANTIGA by locals.

thanks to both of you for your input; no we're not going to be renting a car, we'll leave the driving to the locals!
