Question about beds on Freedom of the Seas

I've heard the beds are comfortable on the Freedom of the Seas, however, can someone tell me if that means they are on the soft side? My back hurts if a bed is too firm, I am considering taking my own mattress pad. I am flying from California and the luggage is already piling up (my husband is going to kill me when he sees how much I am taking). I would prefer to leave the mattress pad at home if the beds are soft enough.

Ihave just come back from cruising the Freedom. I too have a bad back the beds were quiet hard but they did suffice. They also put extra padding on if you want it. Enjoy your cruise this is the vessel I have been on to date. I sailed on her on the 17th December for 1 week and then on the Caribbean princess for a week. I would not sail on the Caribbean again but I would definately sail on the Freedom again. I hope you have a wonderful time she is truly a remarkable ship.

I have similar back problems, and when I was on the Freedom (and other RCCLs that have upgraded their beds, they've happily supplied additional padding and I've had no problems.

Thanks so much, my husband just took a look at all the bags I was taking and had a couple of comments. I will take out the mattress pad and ask for extra padding.
