If I did it then anybody can do it.  I'm not a good swimmer either.  I didn't like using the fins and couldn't figure out how to get them on properly (in the water or out of the water).  I don't have a vest but I'm going to buy one before my next cruise.  I borrowed one from a cruise mate and only got a little nervous thinking I was just going to float away, but I had so much fun.
