You could take the elevator if you got down there earlier than necessary... that's what my dad did because the stairs kill him. I would take the stairs if you are able.
My parents are both in their 60's and dad has bad knees ... there stateroom is on the Rivera deck ... how many stairs are we talking about ...
Are you saying that they could take their lifejackets with them from the room sometime before the drill and head to which ever area they needed to go ...
Yes, they could take their life jackets early and take the elevators and then wait for the drill. Then they'd have to wait until everyone cleared the way again and they opened the elevators back up..........
On the Holiday on 11/14/02 I saw many older people having a difficult time with the "drill".This time we actually had to go out to the lifeboats and people were really running and some of the "older" people literally got run over which is a shame. Heard complaints from older people( I am older but in good physical shape). If you are an older person and in not in good physical shape I would recommend that you find out and go to the ultimate drill site. From the muster station though is where the real problem started??Can these people find out the life boat station and go there instead??
