My question is if there is and what the "theme" nights have been on the Princess Grand lately. I have heard that there is a Tropical night and a Western night. My family wants to know so they can plan ahead a bit for our trip coming up on the 29th. Thanks!

When we went in May they had a great island night. It was in the aft pool area with the pool covered so the band could use the spot. They had confetti and all ! Lots of fun.
Since we are not into country western we didn't pay attention to wether or not they had anything. They probably did, most ships do. Sorry I don't remember that one. Now if I could just get to our Princess patters I could tell you for sure :lol still unpacking :lol :lol

I was on the Grand in May also and there was only the Island Night, just like Laurie described. I don't remember a Western Night....maybe I missed it!

thanks to all...guess I heard incorrectly earlier.

Any other tips for me, there is a group of 18 of us from my family going. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks again

I'm not sure what would happen with a group of 18 at Personal Chioce Dining, so you may want to take one of the fixed dinner seatings (assuming you all want to eat together). We had second seating and the dining room was very calm, uncrowded, and the service was great. Seems like fixed seating has become much less popular given that they only used one dining room for it, and it was only two-thirds full on a full ship. Maybe they'd make special arrangements for you at PC with a big group like that, but you may also end up standing in the hall waiting a lot...

thanks for confirming my thoughts on PC dining. I have us all scheduled for early sitting of traditional dining since we have a couple people that need to have a scheduled early dinner (health reasons). and I figured that with a group that large if we didn't have a set time it would be pushed back and back waiting for everyone to get together before leaving for dinner.

I was also told that I should talk to the social director as soon as I board to talk to her about the shows and such. (Our group is like little kids when we all get together and it is funny when we are pulled up on stage)

Thanks again! any other hints/tips?

We were a group of 15 on the Dawn Princess back in November and since I prefer PC dining, there was no problem having 2 tables at 8:00PM every night in the PC dining room. It was a mix of PC / Traditional. It was great! We plan to do the same wit our group this November also.
