Question for recent (last year) cruisers who love beer

I'm thinking about bringing beer on board. If I choose to do this, should I buy bottles or cans to pack in the suitcase? I have successfully brought both in the past without breakage (in checked bags). Since I live in Florida, flights are not an issue.

Most importantly, which brands of beer are sold on the ship (I will be on Mariner, but I ASSUME they all carry the same brands). Nothing like me walking around with a cold heinekin or bud light only to find out that that type of beer is not available on the ship. Also, I don't want to walk around with a bottle of a certain type of beer of that type of beer is only available in cans.

Thanks in advance for the tips. Advice from 5 or 10 years ago is not going to be too helpful, so I am hoping only those who have cruised in 2005 or 2006 on an RCL ship comment.

We have packed beer in our luggage before with no problem. We always put it in zip lock baggies just incase of a puncture. Friends of ours bought a hard sided piece of luggage at good will and that's what they put all their drinks in.

Red Stripe is the only beer we found that has a higher alchol content then the others on the ship.
